Development of positive parenting skills

“Support to the parents of children in developing and strengthening positive parenting skills” – first training held in Banjaluka

In Foundation within the project  “Support to the parents of children in developing and strengthening positive parenting skills” organized training for the first group of kindergartens staff in Banja Luka from 28-30. of April 2011.

Training was attended by 26 participants: 17 teachers and 9 professionals from seven kindergartens from Banja Luka and six kindergartens from Bijeljina, Prnjavor, Kotor Varoš, Čelinac, Prijedor and Gradiška.
After two and half days of training participants acquired new knowledge through direct participation in workshops and are now organized in 13 pairs of workshop leaders who will begin implementation of the workshops with groups of parents in their local communities, as of September.

Training was conducted by two psychologists: Branka Starc and Ninoslava Pečnik, both from Zagreb, the authors of the manual of workshops for  parents “Let`s grow up together”, supported by UNICEF Croatia.

Introductory block of training was attended by guests: Goran Trivić, representative of the Ministry of Family, Youth and Sports of the Republic of Srpska, Zlata Hadžić Bajrić Deputy Ombudsman for Children of the Republic of Srpska, Sanela Tepšić representative of Paediatric Health Services in Banja Luka and Tamara Pribišev from the Department of Pedagogy at Faculty of Humanistic Science in Banja Luka.
Following initial training for a new group of 26 participants will be organized in Sarajevo from 19- 21. of May 2011.
