Development of positive parenting skills

“Support to the parents of children in developing and strengthening positive parenting skills” – training held in Sarajevo

The second training within “Support to the parents of children in developing and strengthening positive parenting skills” project took place in Sarajevo from 19 – 21 of May. Training was organized in cooperation with “Children of Sarajevo” Institution and was carried out in one of its kindergarten: “Childrens’ Town”

Training was attended by 26 participants. Two participants from Zavidovici kindergarten joined the group on their own initiative. Training gathered in total 28 participants: 17 teachers and 11 professional kindergarten staff, coming from 7 kindergartens of Sarajevo, 2 kindergartens of Mostar, one kindergarten from Trebinje, Siroki Brijeg, Tuzla, Zenica and Zavidovici.

Training was conducted by Branka Starc and Ninoslava Pecnik, psychologists from Zagreb, authors of the manual of workshops for parents “Let’s grow up together”. Manual together with map of workshops was distributed to participants as donation of UNICEF Croatia.

Introductory block of training was attended by several guests: professors Adila Pasalic-Kreso, Lidija Pehar and assistant Sandra Bjelan from Department of Pedagogy at Faculty of Phylosophy in Sarajevo, Ismeta Brajlovic representative of Pedagogical Institute of Sarajevo Canton and Sabaha Dracic form The Association for Improving Maternity and Breast Feeding.

The following project activity, workshops with parents, will commence in September, when 27 pairs of trained staff in Banjaluka and Sarajevo will start workshops with groups of parents in their local communities in B&H.
