Online education “Systematic approach to the family – family systems and the use of genograms”

We held the first online training entitled “Systematic approach to the family – family systems and the use of genograms” for 40 participants on April 28-29.

As a part of the project “Establishing Family Group Conference in the Child protection System in Republika Srpska and Tuzla Canton” implemented by IN Foundation, with the support of UNICEF in BiH, Swiss Agency for Development and the Swedish Embassy in Sarajevo, the first online training “Systematic approach to the family – family systems and the use of genograms” was held on April 28-29, 2020.

The training aimed to strengthen the capacities of professionals and teachers in applying Family Group Conference models, to recognize and provide appropriate and prompt support to children at risk, improving by that early intervention and child protection.

Participants of the training were initiators and independent coordinators from 18 primary schools in RS, who were involved in the first round of the project, as well as professionals and teachers from primary schools of Tuzla Canton, who were included in the second round, in the project “Establishing Family Group Conference in the child protection system in RS and Tuzla Canton ”

Education has placed particular emphasis on understanding the position of children at risk, the complexity of their situation and the complexity of the impact of the family system on their functioning. That is why it is important that through such education, practice and formal education system, the professionals constantly build and develop their competencies in order to improve early recognition and early intervention system in order to better protect children within the education system.

The lecturer was professor Aleksandra Hadžić, PhD, from the Faculty of Philosophy, Banja Luka, from the Department of Developmental Psychology, who is also a therapist for family systematic psychotherapy.
