Project “Empowering children at risk” supported by Creating more favorable environment for civil society – EMBRACE

Growing up in an insecure and unstable environment additionally increases the risk and affects daily functioning of children, their school achievements and their further life opportunities. Providing focused and timely support breaks the cycle of violence and prevents numerous problems in society. Therefore, we aim at strengthening the resilience of children at risk to become healthy and active members of society through this type of support. The project, in total value of 25,672.00 BAM, has started on June 1, 2020 and will last for 7 months. It is supported by the project Creating more favorable environment for civil society – EMBRACE, funded by the Government of the Kingdom of Norway, and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The goal of the project is to improve the well-being of children at risk and their families by creating a supportive environment for their growth and development through the support of 30 children at risk. Also, the project activities will focus on 30 of their parents, that we intend to empower to cope more easily with the parenting tasks. We expect, through the number of interventions, to strengthen the capacities of children and develop healthy life skills as well as to support their resilience by participating in psychosocial workshops and violence prevention workshops, social engagement, yoga, music and thus providing them with a stimulating environment for critical thinking, development of imagination, adoption of positive behaviors and equal opportunities, as their peers have. In addition, we intend to build trust with parents by providing advisory support for issues relevant to them, in order to develop better readiness to respond to the parenting tasks. IN Foundation project “Empowering children at risk” is supported by “Creating more favorable environment for civil society – EMBRACE”.
